Why I Wrote This Book
Author
MY STORY
For most of my life, people knew me by the roles I filled. I was a daughter. A mother. A wife. A business owner. A caregiver. A problem solver.
What very few people knew was that somewhere beneath all of those titles, I had quietly lost myself.
Life didn't fall apart overnight. It happened one unexpected turn at a time — through divorce, identity shifts, entrepreneurship, motherhood, menopause, moments of deep faith, and countless new beginnings. Each twist forced me to ask a question I never expected: Who am I when I'm no longer living only for everyone else?
The Winding Road is the answer to that question.
This book is about learning that our lives aren't meant to follow a perfectly straight path. The unexpected turns often become the places where we heal, rediscover ourselves, and find the strength to begin again.
If you've ever felt lost, overwhelmed, or unsure of what's next, I hope my story reminds you that your journey isn't over. Sometimes the road that feels the most uncertain is the one leading you exactly where you're meant to be.

Felicia LaShawn is a mother, grandmother, entrepreneur, life coach, and founder of The Reset Journey.
After years of navigating life's unexpected detours, she now helps women 40+ rediscover themselves, embrace new beginnings, and create lives they love.
She believes every winding road has purpose — and every woman has the power to rewrite her story.
